IT STARTED WITH ONE INCREDIBLE GIRL.
Malia’s Awesome World began with Malia — a girl whose strength, determination, and love for being part of something bigger inspired a dream.
After being diagnosed with epilepsy as a young child, Malia’s journey included countless medications, multiple brain surgeries, relearning how to walk, and challenges most people will never have to face. But those challenges have never defined who she is.
Malia found something she loved: cheerleading. For seven years, special needs competitive cheer gave her a place to move, compete, build confidence, make connections, and most importantly — belong.
When that opportunity disappeared, Malia kept asking one simple question: “When can I go back to cheer?”
That question planted the seed for Malia’s Awesome World.
FROM ONE QUESTION CAME A BIGGER DREAM.
Malia’s Awesome World was created from a simple belief: everyone deserves a place where they belong.
What started as a dream of bringing Malia back to the sport she loved has grown into a vision for something much bigger — an inclusive space where individuals of all ages and abilities can move, play, compete, connect, and simply be themselves.
Our vision is to bring competitive and adaptive cheer, sensory-friendly activities, physical fitness, basketball and other sports, community programs, and opportunities to host Special Olympics activities together under one roof.
A place built not around limitations — but possibilities.
